Prepare for a hauntingly beautiful evening this Halloween season as the Boise State Symphony Orchestra presents its annual Spook-tacular Concert: “A Night at the Opera!” Join us for a spellbinding night filled with drama, passion and unforgettable music from some of opera’s most celebrated composers.

This year’s theme delves into opera’s most powerful and thrilling moments, featuring works by Hector Berlioz, Leonard Bernstein, Georges Bizet, Pietro Mascagni, Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner. Experience the sweeping grandeur and passion of Wagner’s “Prelude” to Die Meistersinger, the sultry melodies of Bizet’s “Carmen,” the tragic beauty of Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana,” and the triumphant “Marche Hongroise” by Hector Berlioz.

Joining Maestro Purdy and the orchestra are guest vocalists, both esteemed members of Boise State’s music faculty: Dr. Christina Mancheni, an electrifying soprano known for her powerful voice and expressive interpretation, and Dr. Jeffrey Seppala, a distinguished bass renowned for his dynamic and engaging performances. Together, they will bring to life some of opera’s most iconic arias: “Glitter and Be Gay” from Bernstein’s Candide and Verdi’s “Ella giammai m’amò” from the opera Don Carlo.

Admission: All ticket proceeds fund Boise State Music scholarships.
