Bio
Emily Thorsen is the Assistant Director of the Writing Center. There, she mentors writing consultants, organizes collaborations between faculty and the Writing Center, and facilitates workshops with campus and community partners. Emily also teaches in the First-Year Writing Program, guiding her English 101, 101P, and 102 students through the process of establishing themselves as university-level academic writers.
Emily frequently serves as a Group Instructor for a course in the Honors College, Honors 390, providing writing instruction to students who are soon to graduate and are writing grad school personal statements, fellowship applications, or job application materials. She often works with students applying to medical programs.
