WordPress Blocks

WordPress Blocks are the components you place into the WordPress Block Editor to build your page or post content. There are several blocks available within WordPress that you can easily add to your page or post. There are different ways to configure and work with these blocks using block toolbars and settings.

Theme Blocks

Theme Blocks are university custom blocks created to provide you with different content layouts in the Boise State WordPress theme. These static and dynamic blocks can be used together with standard Text, Media, and Design blocks to create beautiful and engaging page layouts.

Although Theme blocks provide a wide range of functionality and layout options, it is important to understand that not all content is suitable for a Theme block.

Consider your audience and the goals for your site to determine when you need the functionality of this type of block and when your audience will be best served by standard web content with headings and paragraphs of text.

Theme Block Accessibility

Before placing your content in a Theme block, we suggest reviewing the Recommendations for Accessible Theme Blocks to learn more about requirements for headings, images, links, and media published when using Theme blocks.
