Send to Third Party is a feature that allows Gravity Forms submissions to be automatically sent to a Google Sheet.
Why use Send to Third Party?
This feature offers the following benefits:
- Site administrators do not have to grant Administrator access to employees who only need to view Gravity Forms submissions.
- Submissions are automatically recorded in a Google Sheet, eliminating the need for manual exports from WordPress.
How it works
The WordPress Support Team will assist you in setting up a Google Spreadsheet that integrates with Gravity Forms:
- Google Sheet setup – We’ll create a spreadsheet with specific headers that match your form submissions.
- Apps Script configuration – A Google Apps Script will be added to enable data input from Gravity Forms.
- Access management – We’ll configure permissions to ensure only authorized individuals can view the spreadsheet.
- Feed configuration – Your Gravity Form will be set up to send submission data directly to the Google Sheet.
Limitations
- Restricted data usage: Send to Third Party is not available for use with private, sensitive, protected, or confidential Gravity Forms data.
- Google Sheet ownership: The Sheet’s owner can only be changed under specific circumstances.  Changing ownership will break the connection with Gravity Forms and require extensive reconfiguration.
- Sheet editing restrictions: Users must not modify Google Sheet headers or other required settings, as even minor changes can break the connection. Any such issues require significant troubleshooting by the WordPress Support Team.
- Gravity Form editing restrictions: Adding new fields to your Gravity Form or modifying existing fields will break access; contact the WordPress Support Team through the Help Desk before you modify your Gravity Form if you’re using Send to Third Party.
- Maintaining Service and Support Reliability: The WordPress Support Team reserves the right to revoke access to Send to Third Party if a department or area repeatedly breaks the connection between a Gravity Form and a Google Sheet.
