Scrap-To-Sculpture Competition

Can you turn a box of homebuilding material scraps into a sculpture or piece of artwork? The Scrap-To-Sculpture challenge is designed for budding artists, craftspeople, or anyone with a knack for building things.

Challenge details:

    • Franklin Building Supply will prepare and supply mystery boxes for interested participants
    • Create anything you feel inspired to create, and you can use any adhesives or fasteners to keep things together
    • Sculpture is to be created only from the contents in the box except for incidental added items to assemble (glue, nails, screws, etc.) or decorate (such as paint)
    • This sculpture/artwork can be purely aesthetic, functional, or any combination of the two
    • Sculptures will be judged based on creativity, originality, and craftsmanship
    • Sculptures must be Rated G for all audiences to enjoy
    • Sculpture is yours to keep, give away, or sell after the competition
    • Sculptures will need to be dropped off by 9:30 am on October 3 at JUMP (1000 W Myrtle St, Boise, ID 83702). and picked up by 1 pm
    • Participants are encouraged to present their sculptures to the judges, but aren’t required to present or be in-person to win
    • Judging will take place and winners will be announced on Thursday, October 3 between 10 am – 12 pm during the Hacking for Homebuilding pitch competition at JUMP (1000 W Myrtle St, Boise, ID 83702)
