Michel Bourgeau was an outstanding defensive tackle for the Bronco football team from 1980 to 1983. Bourgeau received first team All-Big Sky Conference honors following his sophomore and senior seasons at Boise State. In 1981, he received honorable mention All-American honors from the Associated Press. A four-year letterman, Bourgeau was a member of Boise State’s 1980 NCAA Division I-AA National Championship team. He finished his career with 182 total tackles including 25 tackles for losses of 139 yards. Bourgeau was drafted in the 12th round of the 1984 NFL draft by the New Orleans Saints. He later signed and played with the Ottawa Rough Riders of the Canadian Football League until 1989, when he was traded to the Edmonton Eskimos.
