OUR Mentor of the Year Awards

The OUR Mentor of the Year Award recognizes faculty mentors who have made a positive impact in a student’s academic, professional and personal life. Faculty are nominated by students and the final selection is made by a committee of faculty and staff from across Boise State academic colleges.

The following six faculty were awarded with the 2024 OUR Mentor of the Year Award during the Undergraduate Research Showcase:

Submit a Poster

Presenting a poster at the 2024 Undergraduate Research Showcase is an opportunity to share your work with the Boise State community, get feedback on your research, network with fellow researchers and build communication skills.

URS 2024 is free and open to the public. Bring along friends and family for a celebration of undergraduate research at Boise State.

Undergraduate students: Make sure to take your raffle tickets at check-in and be present for the prize drawing during the closing ceremony.

Workshop on Creating Impactful Research Posters: Tuesday, March 26, 3 – 4:30 p.m.

Learn how to present your research effectively, from choosing the right information to layout and flow. Leave with a list of tips, tools, and resources to help you take your poster to the next level. Mark your calendar for this IN-PERSON workshop.

• EURECA Research Cord: The EURECA is a newly instituted graduation cord that seeks to recognize Boise State students who have demonstrated commitment to development as a researcher or in creative work while pursuing their undergraduate degree. Deadline to apply: Sunday, March 31, 2024 (for students graduating in Spring 2024). Learn more and apply
• OUR Mentor of the Year Award: The OUR Mentor of the Year Award recognizes incredible research mentors across campus who have made a positive impact on a student’s undergraduate research experience at Boise State. Mentors can be nominated by students only and will be selected by a committee from across colleges. Selected mentors will be awarded during URS 2024. Deadline to nominate: Monday, March 25, 2024. EURECA Graduation Cord

EURECA (Excellence in Undergraduate REsearch and Creative Activity) is a newly instituted graduation cord that seeks to recognize Boise State students who have demonstrated commitment to development as a researcher or in creative work while pursuing their undergraduate degree.

51 students were awarded the EURECA Graduation Cord at the 2024 Undergraduate Research Showcase. Students received a certificate and an honor cord from the Institute for Inclusive and Transformative Scholarship (IFITS) to wear at commencement.
