Description: This statewide internship program matches qualifying students in internships in Idaho newsrooms of their choice for a semester of paid on-the-job learning (subject to location and newsroom restrictions). Independent mentorship by board members and volunteers is an important aspect this internship program. Students of all majors are encouraged to consider applying for internships in broadcast and print journalism, reporting, photography/videography, research, production, editing, graphic design, and many other newsroom roles. Many of the internships are in the Treasure Valley. Additional features:
- The internship will provide a $6,000 stipend for 20 weeks of part-time work
- Mentorship
- Students must be currently attending an Idaho college or university (recent grads are welcome to apply)
- Must be Latinx-identifying
- No journalism experience or journalism/comm major required
