Student Assistant Uniform Manager
Assistant Uniform Manager
Job Description:
To assist and train with the Uniform Manager for the marching season, with the intent to fill the Uniform Manager position in the future. Overall management and care for uniform and all uniform components, including but not limited to organization of the uniform storage room, inventory of components, overseeing cleaning, repair alterations, etc. Specific duties will include the following: coordinating uniform fitting and check-out for each member of the Blue Thunder Marching Band (during band camp); managing the check-out of all uniform accessories; maintain an accurate database of uniform check-out information; collect and deliver uniforms for dry cleaning, alterations, and repair as needed; perform minor uniform alterations and repairs as needed throughout the season; coordinate uniform check-in after last performance; perform other duties as assigned by the Director and/or Program Coordinator. There will also be some front office duties such as answering phones, copying, data entry, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Full time student at Boise State University with a GPA of 3.0 or above
- At least one season of membership in the Boise State Blue Thunder Marching Band
- Must be registered in Marching Band class
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
- Good customer service
- Ability to work quickly and multi-task in a high paced environment
- Basic knowledge of Excel, and ability to quickly learn other computer database programs.
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Ability to take direction and implement quickly
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of sewing
- Reception/desk work experience
Compensation:
- Students will be employed by Boise State University at a rate of $9.00 per hour
- Open to both work study and non-work study applicants
Hours:
Hours will be determined through a combination of workload and consistent weekly office hours scheduled with the Program Coordinator. Must be available in late summer for camp preparation, with the following Fall start date as early as August 1.

Fall 2023 as needed for training

Student Front Desk Office Assistant

Front Desk Office Assistant Job Description:
Front desk receptionist duties will include but are not limited to answering phones; creating and/or editing documents; filing; organizing music & instruments, or other miscellaneous items; assisting the Band Directors, Program Coordinator, Uniform Manager, and other staff personnel. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Full time student at Boise State University with a GPA of 3.0 or above
- At least one season of membership in the Boise State Blue Thunder Marching Band
- Must be registered in the Blue Thunder Marching Band class
- Basic knowledge of spreadsheet software and ability to quickly learn other computer database programs
- Good organizational skills
- Good problem solving skills
- Good customer service
- Ability to work quickly and multi-task in a high paced environment
- Willing to accept and quickly implement improvement suggestions
- Willing to assist with a variety of tasks, including but not limited to the above mentioned duties
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interview preference given to experience with graphic design and/or video editing
- Familiar with Apple computers and software
- Majoring in Graphic Design or Business
- Experience answering phone calls professionally
- General technology experience and/or computer programming proficiency

Assistant Librarian
Job Description:
Assist Librarian in managing the Blue Thunder music library, with the intent to fill the Librarian position in the future. Specific duties will include the following: keeping the music library database up to date; keeping music organized in the file cabinets and online; making copies for rehearsals and performances prior to and throughout the season; uploading electronic versions; assist with music folders and flip folders as needed; maintain organization and cleanliness of files and music area; perform other duties as assigned by the Directors and/or Program Coordinator. Office and front desk receptionist duties will include but are not limited to: answering phones; creating and/or editing documents; filing; organizing music, instruments, or other miscellaneous items; assisting the Band Directors, Program Coordinator, along with other staff personnel.

- Previous experience cataloging music scores &/or with electronic filing systems
- Reception, customer service, and/or desk work experience
