    Rob Nyland, PhD. (he/him/his) has been an instructor, media designer, instructional designer, and researcher for the past 20 years.  He originally graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Media Arts Studies. There he specialized in production and post-production sound, editing, and non-fiction production.  His film credits include Pride and Prejudice, Moving McAllister, and The Best Two Years.  After graduating with a Master’s in Mass Communication, Rob became the lead faculty in the Video Production program at Lake Washington Institute of Technology, where he taught classes in film history, video editing, sound production, and motion graphics. Since receiving his Ph.D. from Brigham Young University, he has worked in the world of online learning as an instructional designer and researcher at Learning Objects, Inc. and Boise State University’s eCampus Center.  Rob currently works as a Learning Architect for the United States Air Force at Air University in Montgomery, Alabama where he helps to design online learning experiences for Airmen serving throughout the world.
