New Recycling Guidelines!

Redefining Recycling

We are thrilled to announce that our campus can now recycle #5 plastic food tubs, crinkly water bottles, and plastic bottles with caps on! These changes are due to new technologies in our recycling center that allow our recyclable materials to get sorted more accurately.

We are giving presentations around campus about our new recycling guidelines. If you want this presentation given in front of your class, campus group, or organization email larsonlarson@boisestate.edu to set up a date and time!

Recycling Together

Our staff have been working hard to educate the students and staff about recycling on campus. Recycling rules can be confusing but don’t worry, we have provided the school with comprehensible signage on our recycling bins. If you are in need of recycling signage, let us know! We have extra signs that we would like to use in areas on campus that may have been missed. Feel free to reach out to sustainability@boisestate.edu or visit this link to learn more about recycling!

New Charging Stations

Thanks to two students, Pia Goodell and Ava Straub, our campus was able to install charging stations for e-bikes and e-scooters across campus. Working with a grant from the City of Boise and a partnership with Campus Facilities, Goodell and Straub were able to get the charging stations installed during winter break. E-bikes and e-scooters are an energy efficient and sustainable way to get around campus. These charging stations provide students with a better opportunity to utilize this type of transportation. To locate the charging stations, check out this map!
