5 1/2 Ways to Kick Off Your Summer

After a long semester of hard work, it’s time for a break. Summer goes by fast, but it’s the time to have fun and relax. You don’t have to have grand plans for it to still be a blast either. Here’s how to make the most of your summer and start it off with a bang.

1) Have a star gazing party in your backyard

If you have a tent, set it up in your backyard and wait for the sun to go down. Now that the weather is getting warmer, it’s a perfect temperature for laying out in the grass and counting constellations. Don’t forget some s’mores!

2) Grab some ice cream for those hot, summer days

Swing by an ice cream shop for a sweet treat to cool you down. Order a delicious scoop of your favorite flavor, get a pint to chow down when the moment strikes, or easily make your own ice cream!

3) Get ready to barbecue

Nothing says summer more than a grill and some barbecue food. If you’ve got a grill, now’s the time to break it out. But even if you don’t, you can still grill from inside your home. Using a steel rack and your oven, you can achieve a similar effect. You can also buy a grill pan for your stovetop instead. If all of that sounds like too much work, you can pick up barbecue from a restaurant.

4) Enjoy nature any way you can

Get outside while you can! Go for a bike ride, hike, a jog, skateboard, roller skate, scooter around, or just take your dogs for a walk. Anything you can do to smell the fresh air and get a little sun.

5) Go on an adventure

Summer is a great time to do some exploring. Open your maps app and look for parks, hikes, sights, and destinations around you. Whether it’s a day trip or a week long vacation, go somewhere new and create new memories.
