It’s been a year like no other. There’s been ups and downs, lefts and rights, but you made it through! And that’s something to be proud of. So, let’s celebrate all the things we’ve accomplished. Here are some ways to put a cap on the end of the school year and kick start your summer.
1) Attend commencements on The Blue
Get ready to celebrate! For you fortunate Broncos that made it through your last final ever, it’s time to enjoy commencement on The Blue. On May 7 & 8, Boise State will be holding commencement ceremonies for the class of spring 2021 and all 2020 classes. There will be three different graduation ceremonies divided by year and college. Check out commencement info for all the details. If you’d rather attend virtually, guess what? You can! It’ll be streamed live on the Boise State website. Tune in and cheer for all your fav grads.
2) Celebrate with a night on the town
Grab a bite to eat with some family and friends. Most restaurants offer outdoor seating and tables are socially distanced. 8th street has plenty of options for everyone no matter what mood you’re in. A fun brunch? Check. A bit fancier plate for dinner? Check. Celebrate in style with Boise’s best eateries.
3) Have a night in with some friends
Get together with a group of your friends and look through old pictures and videos from this year. Have everyone bring a snack or make a charcuterie board. Laugh about those crazy nights out or share funny videos you have of each other. Lastly, top the night off with a funny movie or game.
4) Plan a summer trip
Find some road trip buddies and plan an adventure. Whether it’s a day trip to go hiking or a weekend of camping, pack a bag and hit the road. Summer is a great time to enjoy the outdoors. So, go jump in a lake! Some places to check out in Idaho are the Blue Heart Springs, Redfish Lake, McCall, and Blue Lake Trail.
5) Go hammocking by the river
The Boise riverside is a popular place for hammocking. And after a long semester full of hard work, you deserve a solid chill sesh. You can find the gear at your favorite outdoor retailer or borrow one from a friend. Search for the perfect spot, bring a good book to read, and enjoy the peaceful sound of the running water.
