Did you know that Boise State Student Life has a podcast? We have a collection of conversations with students sharing their experiences, lessons and advice that are worth listening to. In honor of the release of Season 2 of the Get a (Student) Life Podcast, we want you to be in the know about what makes this podcast one of a kind!
1) One whole season to binge!
We have a whole year of content on our Spotify and YouTube channels for you to catch up on — that’s 17 episodes. Our first-ever attempt at a podcast was a success and we learned a lot along the way. And had fun of course!
2) Telling student stories
What do we even talk about on the podcast? I’m so glad you asked. We discuss all things related to Boise State students and share stories to inspire, advise and encourage. We share a variety of stories, ranging from those who have scaled mountains, led organizations, performed on stages, to those who have navigated the newness of college as nontraditional students.
3) Recording in the Sound Studio
This podcast wouldn’t be possible without the support and encouragement of Albertsons Library which allows us to record in the Sound Studio. Get this — any student can use this resource. Check out 5 ½ Things About the Sound Studio and begin your own project.
4) For students by students
This podcast started with a student employee who mentioned they had always wanted to try podcasting. Student Communications and Marketing said, “Okay, let’s make it happen!” The podcast couldn’t exist without a whole team of student employees to interview, record, produce and edit the podcast. There’s a good chance you’ll hear someone you know in an episode or two.
5) Pitch a story idea
What would you like to hear on the podcast? We’d love to hear your ideas and story leads. Send an email to studentlife@boisestate.edu introducing yourself and share your feedback, ideas or interest in being a guest on the podcast. We want all students to feel heard.
5 ½) Season two is here!
A brand new season is underway with a new look, format and planty of stories. Listen to our first episode with Mane Line Captain Makenna Periera on Spotify or YouTube.
