Join us for Body Acceptance Week, February 24 – 28

Body Acceptance Week is here at Boise State from February 24 – 28. This week will be full of fun events each day to learn how to incorporate healthy body image practices into your daily routine. Here are 5 ½ things about the lineup of events to mark your calendar for.

1) Affirmation Station

The week is kicking off with an Affirmation Station – you’ll have the chance to spread kindness—to yourself and others! Come uplift yourself, compliment others, enjoy free snacks, and enter a giveaway on Monday, February 24, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m outside the Interactive Learning Center (ILC) + 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. in the Rec Center Lobby!

2) YAY! Cafe

Rooted in body positivity and self-acceptance, Yay! Cafe provides tools and resources to help students navigate college life with confidence, care, and compassion for their bodies. Head to Bronco Lounge in the SUB on Tuesday, February 25, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. to celebrate body diversity, empower ourselves to make healthy choices and create a safe space for self-acceptance!

3) Donut Believe Everything You See On Social Media

Grab a free donut outside of the ILC on Wednesday, February 26 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. and get tips on navigating social media with confidence with tools to protect your mental health. At the event you’ll get to promote self-love, challenge online myths, and take unfiltered selfies with friends!

4) (Very) Mindful Movement

Thursday, February 27 will be filled with activities that prioritize well-being, mindfulness, and connection—no judgment, just self-care! Yoga, meditation, walking, and cycle classes run from 6:30 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. at the Rec Centerview the full schedule here.

5) Eating Disorder Awareness Lunch and Learn

Bring a lunch (beverages and cookies provided!) and attend an informative session during Body Acceptance Week on Friday, February 28th, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Bishop Barnwell Room, Student Union Building. You’ll learn the latest research on eating disorders, how to recognize the signs & symptoms, strategies for talking about eating & body image, and eating disorder prevention efforts at Boise State!
