Real Impact

“If it weren’t for ROTC, I probably wouldn’t be in college. It’s put me on a great path for success and is getting me where I want to be.”

-Cadet Jason Heinz, ROTC Honor Award, Silver Athletic Award, Spring 2024 Dean’s List

Funding Priorities

Color guard at football game

Color Guard

Our color guard is a fixture at Boise State home football games, campus ceremonies, community events, and local parades, but current equipment is worn and needs replacement. Costs to outfit and equip the Boise State color guard are a priority we could certainly use your support for.

ROTC Cadet

Emergency Funding

From time to time cadets face unforeseen, emergency situations. With your help, we would like to increase our “scholarship” fund to help with unanticipated cadet expenses.

Cadet training in the field

Training Expenses

Do you remember field training exercises, Ranger challenge travel and training experiences, and senior year’s staff ride? Each involves transportation costs, overnight lodging, outdoor equipment, and so on, above and beyond the constraints of our budget.

Students at military ball

Military Ball

The commissioning requirements standing between a Boise State ROTC student and their career mandate that we host a Military Ball each year, and with a significant increase in the cost of attendance, we’re hoping you’ll partner with us to help our cadets fulfill this requirement.

Cadet talking to person at football game

Cannon Crew

If you live in the Boise area, or have attended an at-home Boise State football game, you may know that ROTC students serve as cannon crew for touchdowns. During their crew time, they want to project great pride, but lack the resources to obtain appropriate attire comparable to that of other Mountain West ROTC cadets, let alone repairs or upgrades to cannon crew equipment.

Your help enables our cadets to participate in the exceptional experiences cherished by generations of members of Boise State’s ROTC and Scabbard & Blade communities.
