
Scholarship applications are now online at Boise State Financial Aid.
There are six opportunities for criminal justice students attending Boise State University to receive scholarships from the Department of Criminal Justice:
The David Mueller Memorial Fund
Travel scholarship created in honor of Dr. David G. Mueller
Dr. Mueller was a strong supporter of the Western Association of Criminal Justice (‘WACJ’), a Past President, and an Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (‘ACJS’) Region 5 Trustee. To honor his contribution to WACJ, a travel scholarship has been established to support student travel to WACJ regional conferences. Once endowed, this scholarship will be available to students attending Region 5 schools in order to fund their participation in the regional conference.
To reach endowment status, we have five years to reach $25,000.

The Margie Hoops Scholarship
Application criteria (see scholarship application for more details):
- Declared Criminal Justice major.
- Enrolled part-time or full-time at Boise State University – Twin Falls campus.
- Show strong leadership potential in academics and participate in activities outside the classroom (e.g. athletics and community involvement).
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
The Ted Hopfenbeck Scholarship
Application criteria (see scholarship application for more details):
- Declared Criminal Justice major.
- Junior, Senior, or Graduate standing by end of Spring semester.
- Enrolled as a full-time student (12 or more credits).
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Involvement in outside activities: criminal justice student organizations, student government, and/or significant volunteer work (Field Work/Internships do not count as outside activities).
- Application includes submission of a paper (1-2pages) addressing intentions of Criminal Justice career plans and preparation.
The FBI Scholarship
Application criteria (see scholarship application for more details):
- Declared Criminal Justice major.
- Interested in a career in law enforcement.
- Senior standing by end of Spring semester (90 or more credits).
- Full-time student (12 or more credits).
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher.
The Michael Blankenship Social Justice Scholarship
Application criteria (see scholarship application for more details):
- Declared Criminal Justice major.
- Junior (58-89 credits) or senior (90 or more credits) standing by the end of the Spring semester.
- Enrolled part-time or full-time at Boise State University.
- Have applied for, and received, admission to criminal justice major.
- Able to demonstrate involvement in a significant way (volunteer or paid work) in furthering social and environmental justice (religious service is not sufficient).
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Alan Creech Alumni Award
Application criteria (see scholarship application for more details):
- Full-time (12+ credits), Junior, Senior, or Graduate student
- Minimum cum GPA 3.0
- List personal accomplishments and activities
Anderson Criminal Justice Award
Application criteria (see scholarship application for more details):
- Full-time (12+ credits for undergraduate, 9 credits for graduate)
- Minimum cum GPA 3.0
- Any grade level (freshman – graduate)
