MPH Students are Making a Big Impact in the Idaho Caregiver Community

MPH graduate students, Jennifer Nguyen and Adrian Rodriguez, bring talent and passion to two signature events sponsored by the Idaho Caregiver Alliance (ICA). Nguyen coordinated all aspects of the recent virtual ICA Family Caregiver Conference and Rodriguez is leading the in-person conference for members of the Spanish-speaking community.

The ICA proudly hosted the 14th Annual Idaho Family Caregiver Conference with the theme Power of Care: Strength in Community in February and provided caregivers across Idaho with valuable tools, resources and a sense of community.

Conference highlights:

  • 187 caregivers participated in this statewide learning opportunity.
  • The conference featured 15 sessions, including a keynote address, a short film discussion on Improv for Caregivers, Laughter Yoga, and interactive breakout sessions on support and services, communication and education and advocacy strategies.
  • Through extensive outreach and promotion, ICA reached an estimated 1,634 caregivers and organizations across Idaho.

This successful event was planned and implemented by ICA, with the goal of supporting and empowering caregivers throughout Idaho. We are grateful for the engagement and enthusiasm of all participants and look forward to future opportunities to support the caregiving community.

Upcoming Event for Spanish-Speaking Caregivers

Looking ahead, ICA is excited to host an in-person conference specifically for caregivers from the Spanish-speaking community. This event will be delivered entirely in Spanish and will take place on Saturday, March 29, at the Nampa Hispanic Community Center in Treasure Valley.

Stay connected with ICA for updates on upcoming events and resources. For more updates, please visit the ICA website or connect with the ICA at idahocaregiveralliance@gmail.com.
