School of Public and Population Health and Idaho Caregiver Alliance (ICA) students recently attended the Idaho Commission on Hispanic Affairs’ annual Idaho Healthcare Conference at Idaho State University. The two-day conference, “From Awareness to Action and Outcomes,” included various workshops, discussion panels and speakers from Indigenous and Hispanic organizations throughout Idaho. During the conference, the ICA participated in panel discussions on “Health Equity and Our Elders,” facilitated by Molina Health of Idaho.
SPPH student Adrián RodrÃguez, Health Education Specialist and Bilingual Family Caregiver Navigator, presented on the landscape of Hispanic and Indigenous healthcare in Idaho and participated in panel discussions alongside Delmy Flores, a recent Boise State Master of Public Health graduate and ICA intern. The conference aimed to identify future health outcomes for these diverse Idaho communities and to develop a strategic plan, a commitment made by Executive Director Margie Gonzalez during the conference. The ICA extends its gratitude to Molina Healthcare for allowing its team members to participate and collaborate in their panel.
