In my role as Lecturer, I teach a 4/4 load, serve as a student advisor and sit on various
committees in the University. I have developed and implemented several courses in the
Sociology department, including Sociology of Religion, Sociology of the Family and Sociology of
Sex and Sexualities. I have been approved to create a new course for University Foundations
entitled Difficult Relationships. I am the Internship Coordinator for our department, the
Concurrent Enrollment Faculty Liaison, Advising Coordinator, serve on the Curriculum
Committee, Student Conduct Board and I am the faculty advisor for Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
In my teaching I work to establish thoughtful rapport and connect with my students on a deeper
level. I want my students to find me engaging and approachable. My teaching goal is to help my
students develop critical thinking skills and compassion towards others. Ultimately, I hope my
students learn the value of service to community.

SERVICE TO COMMUNITY
GUARDIAN AD LITEM, Family Advocates, 2016-present
In this role I am a court appointed special advocate for children that have been removed
from their parent or guardian’s care due to abuse or neglect. I act as the advocate
strictly for the child. In this role I do frequent home visits, interview all parties involved, work closely with Idaho Health and Welfare, write court reports and testify in court
hearings. I currently have three children assigned to me.
BOARD MEMBER, Faces of Hope, 2021-present
Faces of Hope is a wrap-around center that serves victims of interpersonal violence. As
a Board member, I attend monthly meetings, help plan fundraising events, am the chair
of the membership committee and work with community partners to secure
relationships.
