The International Sculpture Center has recognized Hallie Maxwell, a Boise State 2024 MFA Visual Arts Program Candidate for Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture.
Nominated by Lily Lee, Associate Professor of Sculpture and Graduate Program Director for MFA Visual Arts, Maxwell’s piece, Senninbari, earned her one of these ten highly competitive awards. Created out of a 48-star American flag, a board of professional artists and curators from the International Sculpture Center chose Maxwell and her piece from 646 images of sculptural works by 182 nominees from 94 colleges and universities worldwide.
Founded in 1994, the Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award aims to acknowledge and encourage young talent, along with their faculty sponsors and institutions.
