Drone – Unmanned Aircraft Systems

All state owned and operated drones must be insured through the State of Idaho’s Aviation insurance program prior to usage. The State’s Aviation insurance policy provides liability protection for all State owned aircraft including optional physical damage (hull) coverage, if placed. The policy also provides hired and non-owned liability insurance coverage on an excess basis for agencies that charter aircraft.

To schedule coverage for drones, register Boise State owned drones at the Boise State University Drones website. Select Drone Registration and Operation Form. RMI will schedule the drone with State Risk for coverage.
