Auto Property Damage

Auto Property Damage coverage is self-funded under the Retained Risk Account and adjudicated by State Risk as provided by the Auto Coverage Document. Property damage coverage includes comprehensive and collision damage to scheduled vehicles, owned or leased, by the state. It also includes coverage for damage to short term rental vehicles, should coverages under the State Rental Agreement not apply.

Covered Vehicles

  1. Land motor vehicles licensed for road use including its equipment and other equipment permanently attached.
  2. Attached and plated trailer or semi-trailer.
  3. Vehicles qualified by ITD as a slow moving vehicle and meets all safety requirements.
  4. A temporarily hired or leased land motor vehicle, provided that it is designated in the schedule, by description or otherwise, as a covered automobile to which this coverage applies.

State owned vehicles, five years or newer, must be scheduled for comprehensive and collision damage. Property damage coverage is optional for vehicles aged over 5 years and can be determined by each State Agency.

Who Reports Owned or Leased Vehicles

Boise State Fleet Management is responsible for reporting all owned/leased vehicles to Risk Management for scheduling with State Risk. Short-term rentals through the State Rental contract are not required to be scheduled.

Deductible

$1,000.00 per occurrence

Reporting Claims

Claims must be reported as soon as possible, but no later than 90 days from the date of
incident. Damages reported without a known date of loss or cause may be excluded from
coverage.

Certain causes of loss and other conditions as indicated in the Auto Property Damage Coverage document.
