As Vice President of Research and Economic Development, Dr. Nancy Glenn leads Boise State’s research enterprise. Oversees research policy and strategy at Boise State, working with Boise State’s community and partners to engage in the excitement of knowledge discovery and the research process.

Responsible for project management of large-scale, multi-discipline Institutional level grants. Assists faculty in strategy, coordination, communication, writing and editing for grant proposals. Develops tools, technique, and process around proposal development best practice.

Responsible for the operationalization and scaling of research support infrastructure at Boise State. Oversees the growth and development of the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research Administration Systems and Analytics.

Assistant Vice President of Research Integrity and Infrastructure. Oversee’s the Office of Research Compliance. Oversees the research misconduct program and ensures the responsible conduct of research.

Director of Office of Technology Transfer. Supports research activities and manages industry relations and intellectual property commercialization for the university.

Director of Economic Development. Supports economic development and related activity with corporate, association, government and other community organizations in support of university units, faculty, staff and students. Seeks to grow partnerships, translational research, innovation and engagement that enhances the impact Boise State University has in the region.

Handles budget and operations matters directly relating to the Division of Research and Economic Development office. Connect with to schedule time with Nancy Glenn.

Responsible for the communication and promotion of research, creative activity and scholarship at Boise State. Point person for the university’s partnership with The Conversation US and Idaho EPSCOR communication needs.

Supports all internal and external communication initiatives for the Division of Research and Economic Development

Responsible for creating, writing, and promoting Boise State University NSF EPSCOR-related research.

Supports budget and operations functions for Center for Research and Creative Activity, Office of Technology Transfer, and the Microscopy and Characterization Suite (MaCS).

Supports budget and operations functions for Research Enterprise Services and Division-level sponsored projects.

Supports Fabrication, Characterization, and Testing Suite Recharge Center, the Biomedical Research Vivarium, and other campus recharge center activities.

Supports administrative and project management needs for the Center for Research and Creative Activity and Center for Advanced Energy Studies

Provides vision and leadership in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), represents the university and initiates opportunities, locally and nationally, using his experience as a computer scientist and former NASA astronaut.

Responsible for the oversight, growth, and development of the Boise State University Center for Advanced Energy Studies. 

Responsible for the strategic oversight, research, and advising for the Energy Policy Institute — the policy body for the Center for Advanced Energy Studies, a consortium of public universities plus Idaho National Laboratory. Specializes in strategic planning and policy associated with energy transitions and geopolitics.
