Join the Boise State University Division of Research and Economic Development, School of the Environment, and the Andrus Center for Public Policy as we partner in hosting an evening reception focused on Net Zero projects across campus. This evening reception is an excellent opportunity to find out more about Net Zero research capacity at Boise State University, drive connections, and mingle with faculty, students and organizations.
The mixer event will be hosted in the Double R Ranch on the fourth floor of the Stueckle Sky Suite at Boise State University from 5-7:30 pm MT.
Participants must RSVP to attend.
Nancy Glenn is the Vice President of Research and Economic Development at Boise State University and a Professor in the Department of Geosciences. Committed to fostering knowledge discovery and research engagement, she collaborates across divisions to expand research opportunities for students, faculty, and staff. Glenn’s leadership roles and diverse experiences, including director and department chair, equip her with a comprehensive understanding of university and agency operations. She has successfully secured over $30M in external funding for her lab, focusing on imaging spectroscopy and lidar remote sensing to monitor and enhance dryland ecosystems. Glenn’s research, documented in 100+ peer-reviewed publications, has been funded by prestigious institutions such as NASA, National Science Foundation, NOAA, and various U.S. government departments. She has also played a key role in establishing the Human-Environment Systems initiative, fostering collaboration and positive impact in the community.
Jhansi Kandasamy, an accomplished electrical engineer and business professional, has devoted 30 years to addressing energy challenges in nuclear power. As the Executive director of Idaho National Laboratory’s Net-Zero program, she plays a pivotal role in carbon-free energy development and a model for transforming INL to Net-Zero by 2031. In her prior role as the executive vice president of engineering at GE-Hitachi, Kandasamy not only supported operating nuclear plants globally, but contributed to the advancement of small modular reactors, aligning with her commitment to environmental protection.
Her journey in the nuclear industry began with progressive roles at Exelon’s Limerick and Oyster Creek Generating Stations and APS’ Palo Verde nuclear generating station. Transitioning to PSEG Nuclear Salem/Hope Creek New Jersey, she held key positions, as well as obtaining U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission senior reactor operator certification.
