Matt Lundgren Accepts New Role of Assistant Vice President of Research Integrity and Infrastructure

We are delighted to announce that Matt Lundgren, a dedicated member of Boise State University for sixteen years, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President of Research Integrity and Infrastructure within the Division of Research and Economic Development (DRED).

Lundgren’s exceptional leadership in research administration and compliance and his professionalism and collaborative spirit have earned him widespread respect across campus. His excellent supervision skills and sense of humor make working with him a pleasure, and we are excited for him to continue driving excellence in his new role. He said:

Lundgren will oversee the development and implementation of research compliance programs, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and institutional regulations. His responsibilities also include collaborating with researchers to maintain the highest standards of research integrity and addressing the physical infrastructure needs to support research activities.

Under Lundgren’s extensive experience and knowledge—having earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and twenty-four years in research-related compliance—the team achieved a significant milestone by earning the prestigious AAALAC accreditation.

Lundgren’s leadership in research administration and compliance since 2008 at Boise State University, along with his key positions, has prepared him well for this role. He added:

Under his leadership, the Research Compliance team has fostered a culture of integrity and compliance, ensuring that all research activities adhere to the highest ethical standards and regulatory requirements. Lundgren’s knack for combining seriousness with a light-hearted approach has made him respected among colleagues. To that, he returns the accolades:
