Write for The Conversation

Register for Research Communication Sessions

All faculty, staff, lecturers, post-docs, and doctoral students are invited to join a series of research communications events led by editors from The Conversation. Between September and November 2021, nine topic-based virtual sessions will be offered to the Boise State community, and attendees are welcome to attend multiple sessions of interest.

At each session, an editor from The Conversation will present a brief overview of the venue, followed by Q and A and a discussion of the attendees’ scholarship, as well as possible research pitches. Most sessions also will feature a Boise State faculty member who has published at least one article with The Conversation and will speak briefly about their experience writing for the publication. Participants are encouraged to come ready to discuss an element of their research that they might be interested in writing about.

The Conversation is a nonprofit, independent news organization dedicated to unlocking the knowledge of experts for the public good. It publishes trustworthy and informative articles written by academic experts for the general public and edited by our team of journalists. Boise State is a supporting member of The Conversation, and currently, 81 Boise State-affiliated articles have reached more than three million readers worldwide.

The Mountain West Clinical & Translational Research – Infrastructure Network (MW CTR-IN) Program releases new 2022-2023 Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs) through the leadership of its newly appointed Principal Investigator, Francisco S. Sy, MD, MS, DrPH.

The mission of the MW CTR-IN Program is to increase and enhance clinical and translational research capacity and facilitate extramural funding success among investigators with faculty appointments at the 12 university partners across 6 IDeA States.

Idaho INBRE Program

Regional Alliance of INBRE Networks (RAIN) Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA)

The Idaho INBRE Program, in coordination with four western INBRE Programs, is pleased to announce the Regional Alliance of INBRE Networks (RAIN) Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA). The purpose of the RAIN FOA is to stimulate collaborative, biomedical research between two researchers in two Western IDeA states of Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, and Wyoming․ The goal of RAIN is to increase interdisciplinary research collaborations among faculty and broaden research and education opportunities for students․

The research projects are intended to:

  1. Stimulate interstate collaborative research between Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, and Wyoming․
  2. Stimulate research collaborations with outcomes that include competitive research approaches, scientific publications, and successful proposals for non-IDeA federal funding․
  3. Investigators are encouraged to take advantage of INBRE Core resources and to include student researchers where appropriate․

Award Budget:  Up to $20,000 in direct costs, per investigator/project, per state․

Award Period: Projects will be approved for a two-year period.
