Research and Creative Activity Orientation and Fall Mixer & GRFP Workshop

New Faculty Research and Creative Activity Orientation

The Center for Research and Creative Activity is hosting an orientation workshop for new faculty. This workshop will introduce new faculty to the Division of Research and Economic Development and the support available to all faculty as they navigate their research and creative activity journey at Boise State. Attendees will hear about resources from the Center for Research and Creative Activity, Office of Sponsored Projects, Research Computing, Tech Transfer, Research Compliance, Economic Development, Institute for Inclusive and Transformative Scholarship, Albertsons Library and the Graduate College.

When: September 22, 1-3:30 pm MST
Location: Lookout Room, Student Union Building

Research and Creative Activity Fall Mixer

Join the School of the Arts and the Division of Research and Economic Development for an evening of entertainment and networking. The fall mixer will highlight performances and work of the creative community at Boise State. Appetizers and cash bar will be on site.

When: September 22, 4-7 pm MST

Reminder: NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program Workshops

The NSF GRFP is a prestigious fellowship program that recognizes and supports early-career graduate students who demonstrate the potential to make impactful research contributions in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) or in STEM education. The five-year fellowship provides three years of financial support with an annual stipend of $37,000.

This two part workshop series will include the following:

  • An in-person workshop with a five person panel of previous and current NSF Graduate Research Fellows, who will share their insights on what makes for a competitive application.
    When: September 8, 10-11 am MST
    Location: Boyington Room, Student Union Building
  • A virtual workshop with an overview of the program by Dr. Chris Hill, NSF Program Director for the Division of Graduate Education.
    When: September 15, 11 – 12 pm MST
    Location: Zoom
