Jefferson Science Fellowship & NIH Workshop for Novel Alternative Methods

Jefferson Science Fellowship (JSF) Accepting Applications

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is pleased to announce that starting in August 2023, applications are being accepted for the 2024 Jefferson Science Fellowships (JSF).
Established by the Secretary of State in 2003, these fellowships serve as an innovative model for engaging the American academic science, engineering, and medical communities in U.S. foreign policy and international development through a one-year immersive experience at the U.S. Department of State or the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

The online application will open in early August and close in mid-October. Faculty may apply with support from their institution as indicated in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Academy of Sciences. Prospective applicants or other institution officials can contact jsf@nas.edu to confirm any other details of the current or prior MOU. Additional details can be found on our website at www.nas.edu/jsf.
