Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) Strategic Meetings

The Division of Research and Economic Development would like to invite faculty interested in the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) program, to a meeting to discuss the potential for your work to fit within a strategic series of grant submissions over the next 5-7 years.  The COBRE program is designed to support multidisciplinary research teams in areas of biomedical research that have the potential to advance the field and lead to significant scientific discoveries.

At this meeting, we will discuss the COBRE program’s goals and requirements, as well as your research interests and expertise.  Examples of potential COBRE theme areas include (but are not limited to) neuroscience, therapeutic drug development, behavioral sciences, musculoskeletal research, vision research, biophysics, protein folding diseases of aging, community and environmental health research, childhood health (that could include molecular, cellular, behavioral, community intervention, pediatric collaborations, community organizations that focus on children, and the K-12 school systems), and many more theme areas that we can start to develop.

The meeting will be an opportunity for us to brainstorm ideas and explore potential strategic collaborations to invest in and build capacity for future COBRE submissions. We hope that you will join us and share your insights and perspectives. Your participation is crucial to the success of this effort, and we look forward to hearing from you.

Please fill out this Google Form by May 3rd to express interest and your availability for a meeting on May 11th, 12th, 15th, 16th, or 17th.   If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Jana LaRosa janalarosa@boisestate.edu.
