Center for Teaching and Learning: INFUSE Grant Program

Investments Needed For Undergraduate Success and Equity (INFUSE)

The Investments Needed For Undergraduate Success and Equity (INFUSE) initiative supports departments and faculty across the institution in making teaching improvements to increase student success and achieve equitable student outcomes while enhancing the teaching culture. The INFUSE initiative is particularly interested in projects that align with college or university priorities for student success and retention.

Projects that are aimed at reducing or eliminating equity gaps for students, increasing students’ sense of belonging, and/or addressing barriers students encounter as they progress through a course or degree program are of particular interest.

Under the INFUSE program, groups of faculty will be eligible to receive up to $5,000 for teaching related projects. Awards will be made during Spring 2021 with projects starting in late Spring or Summer 2021. We encourage departments to engage in discussion around the potential uses of these funds before submitting a proposal, as funding is limited. In addition, we encourage proposals that engage more than one or two faculty so that the investments have the potential to include broader impacts across a department or the larger campus. However, in light of the current challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are open to proposals submitted by individual faculty, but will limit the total award amount for individual grants to $1,500.

Possible project activities might include:

  • department teaching retreat(s)
  • course/curriculum redesign project
  • departmental teaching discussion group or community of practice
  • exploration of effective assessment strategies
  • intentional use of universal design for learning (UDL) in teaching practice
  • integration of COVID related teaching approaches for sustained use
  • deepening faculty involvement in community partnerships to strengthen students’ community engagement/service-learning

Award Amount:

Up to $5,000

Due Date:
