Research Summary

My research focuses on two main areas: monitoring volcanic mudflows (lahars) and understanding their flow dynamics, and examining how emergency managers and response teams make real-time evacuation and communication decisions during wildfires and other natural hazards. The volcano research aims to enhance early warning systems for lahars, while the behavioral study seeks to identify key decision triggers for emergency teams when informing the public about evacuation protocols.
