Research Summary

I am interested in applying multi-disciplinary studies to bridge the gap between social and physical science within volcanology to better understand volcanic hazards and risk mitigation. I have recently completed my Masters at the University of Bristol in the UK where I investigated pyroclastic density current (PDC) timescales and evacuation timescales at Fuego and Santiaguito volcanoes, Guatemala. This research highlighted the importance of coordination between risk mitigation groups and communities, to strengthen resilience against PDCs and lahars.
