The HCRI is thrilled to welcome Zachary Provant as a postdoc.
Zac is a trained social scientist with expertise in hazard risk. He also has expertise in geospatial analysis. His doctoral research includes landslide susceptibility mapping and risk in Juneau, Alaska (download attached paper PDF), work that most certainly could be extended to Idaho. He also works with the community of Juneau on risk reduction action and policies. Zac is well versed in community engaged research and will bring an incredible skillset to the HCRI, our communities, and our students.
Zac will finish his doctorate next month from the Environmental Sciences, Studies, and Policy program at the University of Oregon. He will begin at Boise State in mid-June.
As Zac is just finishing his dissertation, we will first hire him as a postdoc. He will then move into a research faculty position in year three, assuming all goes as expected.
