HCRI member and PhD student Kathryn McConnell is researching how wildfires influence where people move to and live. In recent years, many families have left fire-affected communities across the western U.S. and moved to Idaho. In the Wildfire Survivors in Idaho project, Kathryn aims to document the experiences of moving and settling into a new community from the perspective of those who have experienced wildfire impacts.
