Aspects described on these pages help the Boise State community by providing a resource for guidance and clarity in navigating responsibilities related to conflicts of interest and conflicts of commitment.
Conflicts of Interest (COI)
A conflict of interest occurs when University personnel use their positions to influence or for personal gain (or appear to influence or gain), including financial advantage or personal benefit, due to their University positions.
Conflicts of Commitment (COC)
A conflict of commitment can arise when a member of the University community’s personal or professional activities or other significant commitments, whether outside or within the University, interfere with University personnel meeting their job responsibilities to the University.
