Campus Rec’s first commitment is to students and the members of our Boise State community. Our goal is to uphold this commitment by creating a more inclusive space. You matter to us and we want our policies and practices to show that every Bronco belongs. On this page are the ways that our facilities are creating access and our programs are cultivating a sense of belonging.

Commitment to Inclusion

Aquatics

Two lifts are available to assist with getting in and out of the pools.
Nationally certified lifeguards are always on deck to ensure the safety and support of those using the facility.
Free drop-in swiminars (swimming seminars) occur on most Saturdays from 11am-12pm to improve stroke techniques.
Nationally certified swim instructors are available for all skill levels and provide support during your water experience.
Our swim lessons are cost-effective and are available in group, private, or semi-private sessions for all ages and skill levels.
A variety of swim equipment, including buoyancy equipment, is available and free to use.

Facility

All fitness equipment is arranged to support ADA regulations.
Hand ergometer features a removable seat to support wheelchair entrance. Please see a Campus Recreation staff member for the location of this equipment.
Our facility offers a ramp entrance, with an easily accessible elevator to enter the second floor.
We have a gender neutral attire policy that requires a top and bottom be worn at all times (exceptions are the locker room areas).
You may use the locker room that aligns with your gender identity. Additionally, a gender inclusive restroom/changing room is available near the entrance to the pool.
A service animal crate is available to check out from the Welcome Desk.

Fitness

Group fitness classes are always free; at zero additional cost to your membership.
Every first-time client can receive a free consultation.
Personal Training and Customized Training Programs are significantly more affordable than any other location in Boise.
We offer in-house courses to become a certified Group Fitness Instructor or Personal Trainer that follow the American Council on Exercise (ACE) national curriculum.
All fitness staff are nationally certified and ensure you are moving in a way that feels good for your body and is safe.
Every Group Fitness instructor plans their class with many different needs in mind and for a range of abilities.
You can choose your own intensity level, and it is never required that you work beyond your own comfort level.
All staff are trained to support your unique needs. If you feel your needs aren’t being met, please let us know and we will accommodate.

Intramural Sports

We offer two leagues: Blue (competitive) and Orange (recreational). This allows you to play at whatever level you are most comfortable with.
Never played? Not a problem. No prior experience is required for Intramural Sports.
Want to play, but need a team? You can sign up for a league as a “Free Agent” and we will help you get in contact with some teams.

Outdoor Program

Adaptive climbing at the Climbing Gym — Chair & Chest Harnesses available
Outdoor Trips are designed for all experience levels! GRIT Offroad Freedom Chair available for students
All dietary needs and allergies are respected on Outdoor Trips
Any Boise State student can work for the Outdoor Program. No experience is necessary, just a commitment to finding the best of you!
We collaborate with programs and departments across campus to host social climbing events at no cost to students
The climbing gym highlights heritage and history months as they relate to the climbing community
