Aquatics Complex Policies and Guidelines

The aquatics complex general guidelines govern our spaces, ensuring a secure and rewarding experience for every participant. Embrace a community committed to fostering sportsmanship, achievement, and well-being by following our guidelines and policies.

Please see a staff member or lifeguard for additional questions or concerns.

  • Appropriate swim attire is required. Attire should be designated for use in the water. Undergarments, gym or street clothes, and see-through swimwear is not allowed.
  • Lifeguards must be present and on duty to use the facility.
  • Minors must be accompanied by an actively supervising adult at all times. Non-swimmers must have an actively participating (in the water) adult within arms reach at all times. Lifeguards determine if a swimmer requires additional supervision as well.
  • Minors over age 5 may not be in gender-specific locker rooms with opposite sex parent or guardian. Minors ages 6-13 also must use a locker room under the supervision of an adult of the same sex or the family locker room.  Lastly, minors ages 14-16 may use appropriate gender-designated locker rooms without direct adult supervision.
  • Please secure all belongings in a locker.
  • No running or horseplay.
  • No diving in shallow water, designated by depth marker signs.
  • No gum, food, or glass allowed in the Aquatics Complex.
  • No breath holding activity allowed.
  • Instruction by non-Campus Recreation Staff is prohibited.

General Guidelines

General Guidelines

  • Shower off before entering the water.
  • Bring your own equipment. We will not have equipment available for use at this time, with the exception of lifejackets for swimmers who need them.
  • We encourage participants to come in their swim suits and leave in their swim suits as they feel comfortable and to reduce risk by lessening contact with high touch point areas.

By following the aquatics complex general guidelines, a mutually secure and beneficial space is created for everyone.

Open Lap Swim

  • Reserve a Lane!
One swimmer per lane. Reservations are guaranteed for 10 minutes into the reservation time and then will be reopened for drop in users. View the Lane Reservation Process here .
  • Lanes 1, 3, 5, and Rec Pool Lane should enter the water from the east end of the pool (nearest the locker room).
  • Lanes 2, 4, and 6 should enter the water from the west end of the pool (deep end with the diving board).
  • We encourage swimmers to place their belongings on the chair at the end of their lane. Disinfect the chair before and after use.
