Boise State University’s Raptor Research Center (RRC) announces that Julie Heath is the new interim director.

We appreciate the work of Jim Belthoff, who led the Center for six years. Belthoff brought in several grants and projects, broadened our collaboration with research partners, oversaw remodeling and furnishing in the RRC Building, and facilitated the Center’s move back to the RRC Building from the Science Building during the winter of 2022/2023.

The Raptor Research Center, operating within the Department of Biological Sciences, makes use of Boise’s location near the Snake River Birds of Prey Natural Area. It conducts research about birds of prey and their habitats, assists students and researchers, offers student international research experiences, and supports Boise State’s unique Master of Science in Raptor Biology program.

Under Heath’s leadership, the center will continue to support graduate and undergraduate student education; be a hub for academic, professional and non-profit collaborations; and be a leader in raptor research and conservation.
