Assistant Professor Stephanie Galla (Boise State University Raptor Research Center, Department of Biological Sciences) recently described her research on Columbian Sharp-tailed Grouse, Gyrfalcons, and other birds on Boise State Public Radio’s Idaho Matters, hosted by Samantha Wright. Galla’s research as primary investigator in the Conservation Genetics Lab uses DNA to map the story of bird species’ declines. Galla also explains how she believes a kinder approach to science can enhance conservation efforts. The podcast episode “How studying Grouse DNA, and a kinder approach to research, may help declining birds survive” aired on November 19, 2024.
