Earthquake Safety Guidelines

In the event of an earthquake, follow the below steps to stay safe.

During an Earthquake

  • Do not rush outside; instead, move away from windows and outside walls.
  • Take cover under sturdy furniture or a stable surface and hold on. If it moves, move with it to stay protected.
  • Protect your head with your arms to minimize injury.
  • Do not attempt to restrain falling objects unless they pose an immediate danger to your life.
  • Hold your position until the shaking stops.

Emergency Assistance

  • Call 9-1-1 only if emergency assistance is needed.
