Welcome to Boise State
At Boise State, the Department of Public Safety is here to help everyone on campus feel safe, supported, and informed—every day, at all hours. Whether you’re a student heading to class, a visitor attending an event, or a faculty or staff member navigating a busy schedule, our team is here to help things run smoothly and safely.
Public Safety is made up of five closely connected sections: Security and Event Security Operations, Parking and Transportation, Threat Assessment and Public Safety Systems, Emergency Management, and DPS Finance and Administration. Each section plays a key role in creating a secure and accessible environment for the entire campus community.
Whether it’s patrolling campus, managing parking and transportation, planning for emergencies, or supporting university events, our team works together to keep the campus running safely and efficiently. We focus on clear communication, proactive planning, and responsive service—always with the goal of supporting the people who live, learn, work, and visit here.
Stay Updated on Parking Changes
When campus parking is affected by construction, maintenance, snow removal, or events, we share updates through campus advisories and other university communication channels. If you have a Boise State parking permit, the Department of Public Safety will email you directly using the address listed in your parking account.
Planning to visit campus? It’s a good idea to check for any parking updates before you arrive.
