Location
Where can I get a STI testing kit?
Public Health is expanding the locations for the STI testing kits. Look for the STI dispensers in key areas around Boise State campus.

Where do I drop off my completed test kit?
Completed testing kits need to be dropped off at the Public Health Testing Center located in the Campus School Building.

The Campus School Building is located between the Brady Street Garage, Interactive Learning Center and the Mathematics Building. For the Testing Center, enter using the northeast entrance, accessed from the parking lot between the Campus School Building and the Interactive Learning Center.
Note: You are welcome to hand your testing kit to the front desk receptionist, or use the drop box provided just inside the front doors to the Public Health Testing Center.
Deciding to Test
Who should get tested for STIs?
- Sexually active individuals under age 25
- Individuals older than 25 and at increased risk of STIs – such as having sex with a new partner or multiple partners
- Individuals with HIV
When should I test?
Every STI has a window period, which is the time between exposure to getting an infection and having it show up in a test.
For chlamydia and gonorrhea it can take up to 2 weeks.
For trichomoniasis, it can take up to 12 weeks.
For mycoplasma genitalium it takes up to 5 days.
Results
What should I do if I test positive?
If your results come back positive a member of the Public Health team will reach out to you.
We highly recommend sharing your results with your primary healthcare provider. Public Health can print your results, or email them to your boisestate.edu email. We are happy to send your results over to your University Health Service provider as well, we just need your consent to do so.

Cost
What is the cost of testing?
Insured: We will bill your insurance for your test, please bring your insurance card when you drop off your test.
Uninsured: There will be an out-of-pocket cost of $75
