Boise State has a limited number of beds available for students who have tested positive for a communicable disease, such as whooping cough, and have a shared bedroom in one of our dorms.
If space is available, and you are without an off-campus option, arrangements will be made to move you to Public Health Housing at University Manor.
Contact Boise State Public Health at (208) 426-1523 or publichealth@boisestate.edu for information about a temporary housing assignment, including location, directions, and details specific to the building.
What to Pack
Pack lightly but intentionally. Recommended essentials are listed in the following packing list.
- Your Bronco Card (student ID card), wallet, and health insurance card if applicable
- Complete changes of comfortable clothes for 5-10 days (onsite laundry will be available to you but you would need to bring laundry soap/supplies)
- Toiletries (shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste, hygiene products)
- Over-the-counter and prescription medications recommended or prescribed by your healthcare provider
- Tissues, hand sanitizer, and facial coverings as needed
- Small electronics and chargers (laptop or computer, phone etc.)
- School supplies (textbooks, pens, pencils, notebooks that you may need for class)
- Any food or snacks you already have on hand (more information about food is provided in the “Food” section)
- A few packable items for your comfort and enjoyment— like a favorite pillow or quilt, games, reading materials, or hobby supplies. You will receive bedding but may prefer your own.
Public Health Housing Amenities
The following amenities and some initial supplies are provided to you in your unit. If your unit is missing any essential items when you arrive, please notify Boise State Public Health staff immediately so that we can deliver those items to you.

- Fresh linens (pillow, sheets, lightweight blanket, towel and washcloth)
- Microwave and refrigerator
- Washable plates, bowls, cups and utensils
- Cleaning supplies (dish soap, sponge, trash bin and trash bags)

Food
You may leave to pick up food on campus. Please wear a good-fitting mask, practice social distancing, do not eat with others (take your food back to your room), and pre-order your meals with Boost to reduce the amount of time you are around others.
Contactless grocery and food delivery services are available as another food option during isolation. Grocery services are offered locally by vendors such as Albertsons, Fred Meyer, Walmart, and Whole Foods.
You may also arrange for contactless delivery from a friend or family member.
Deliveries can be made directly to you at the following address:
University Manor Apartments, 2016 W Boise Avenue, Unit 1910-1 or 1910-2 as assigned.
Parking
You may park in the nearest parking spot to your temporary unit, at no cost.
Please communicate the make, model, and license plate number of your vehicle to Boise State Public Health upon check-in, or email this information to publichealth@boisestate.edu within one hour of check-in.
