Wendy describes herself as positive, energetic, and caring.
Wendy McConnell completed her Pre-Pharmacy coursework at Boise State University before getting accepted into the College of Pharmacy at Idaho State University. She was born and raised in Idaho and is happy to be able to follow her dreams of becoming a Pharmacist while remaining in Idaho. Wendy is in her second year of pharmacy school. She has been fortunate enough to get a job working as a Pharmacy Technician at Intermountain Hospital. She has taken on several leadership roles, including becoming an Ambassador for the College of Pharmacy. When she graduates in 2024, Wendy hopes to work in Ambulatory Care
What is it like being a pharmacy student during a pandemic?
In my program, I feel very supported. My cohorts and I are able to have zoom team building sessions as well as study sessions.
What do you think was the most important experience you had at Boise State?
Having free resources for everything I needed help with including the CIC, Career Services, Writing Center, and my advisor.
What resources did you use at Boise State to prepare you for your pharmacy career?
CIC, teaching assistants, advisor, Writing Center, Career Services.
Do you think Boise State prepared you for your pharmacy school?
Yes, it did!
What would you tell yourself now knowing what you know now about applying to pharmacy school?
Start working on everything as soon as possible like the personal statement and practicing to improve interviewing skills. Don’t wait until it’s time to submit your application.
What do you wish you would have known before becoming a pharmacy student?
I wish I would have known there were mentors at ISU that I could have connected with during my undergrad.
