Scope and Audience

This policy applies to all individuals operating a vehicle on the Boise State University campus.


1. Policy Purpose

To establish University policy for speed limits on campus.

2. Policy Statement

No person, while operating a vehicle on the campus of Boise State University, will drive a vehicle at a speed greater than is reasonable and prudent under the conditions, and having a regard to the actual and potential hazards there existing. Consistent with the foregoing, every person will drive a safe and appropriate speed when special hazards exist with respect to pedestrians or other traffic or by reason of weather or roadway conditions.

3. Responsibilities and Procedures

The speed limit as hereinafter authorized will be a maximum of fifteen (15) miles per hour. No person will drive a vehicle at a speed in excess of such maximum limit. Failure to comply with maximum and safe limits will result in citation by law enforcement personnel or revocation of campus driving privileges.
