On Friday 21st of July the AstroTAC team traveled up to Stanley for the BAS (Boise Astronomical Society) STAR party! We brought 3 telescopes and were joined by the BAS members who brought 5 more telescopes. We started the evening off by looking at the moon. The night unfolded into a very clear night which was great for observing! The star of the evening was being able to look at Saturn very clearly through a variety of telescopes.
On the following Saturday, we joined the Central Idaho Dark Sky Reserve booth at Stanley History Day. We brought out our solar scopes and looked at the sun. It was a great day with good conversations about the importance of protecting our night skies from light pollution.
Thank you Stanley and BAS for a great STAR party!
