On Friday, March 6th at 4:30 Dr. Hud Hudson (Western Washington University) will give a talk on the Philosophy of Religion titled “The Father of Lies.”   BSU Education Building, Rm. 110.

Dr. Hud Hudson Bio:

After completing his BA in Philosophy at Boise State University in 1986, Hud Hudson went on to complete an MA and PhD in Philosophy at the University of Rochester.  After a brief stint teaching at Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Hudson decided to return to the Northwest and in 1992 joined the Philosophy Department at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA.  He has remained there ever since, attaining the rank of Full Professor in 2000 and receiving both the Peter J. Elich Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award and the Paul J. Olscamp Research Award.  Dr. Hudson has published four books — Kant’s Compatibilism (Cornell), A Materialist Metaphysics of the Human Person (Cornell), The Metaphysics of Hyperspace (Oxford), and The Fall and Hypertime (Oxford).  He has forty articles published or forthcoming in prestigious journals and collections on topics in metaphysics, ethics, philosophy of religion, and Kant studies.  A scholar of worldwide reputation, Dr. Hudson has presented dozens of papers  in regional, national, and international venues.  And finally — one distinction of which he says he is especially proud — Dr Hudson was honored as a BSU Distinguished Alumnus in 2003.
