Alexander Jackson’s and the Aristotelian Society the Mind Association in July 2014

Alexander-JacksonDr. Alexander Jackson presented his paper “From Relative Truth to Finean Non-Factualism at the Logic, Epistemology & Metaphysics Forum in London, England on July 1 2014.  The paper compared two relativist-style views about matters of taste. Jackson argued that Kit Fine’s “non-factualism” is a better view than truth-relativism. Jackson also presented his paper, “Formulating the Problem of Easy Knowledge,”  at the Joint Sessions of the Aristotelian Society & the Mind Association conference at the University of Cambridge in Cambridge, England, July 13-14.  The Problem of Easy Knowledge is meant to refute a class of epistemological views, including foundationalism about perceptual knowledge. His paper clears up some mistakes about how to formulate such an argument. In future work, he hopes to show that even the best version of the argument fails.
