Microsoft’s Data Analytics Power House
A 6-hour instructor-led class and live student-participation lab on the foundations of PowerBI’s three components: Power Query (data clean up), Power Modeling (data relationships) and Power View (data visualization). Students will learn the fundamental structure of the PowerBi platform using Microsoft-provided public data sets.
Level: introduction to intermediate
YOU WILL LEARN:
- Use and complete multiple Power Query (data clean-up) exercises to become familiar with the automation portion of redundant data prep tasks
- Use Power Modeling (data relationships) to ensure multiple data sets are connected via relationships
- Use Power View to design a data visualization final report and publish to the “My Workspace” location of the PowerBI Service
SO YOU WILL BE ABLE TO:
- Import multiple data sets and make data corrections using the new tools in Power Query
- Relate the data set fields using the visible workflow diagram in Power Modeling
- Design a visual final report that is publish-worthy and sharable to a team

Benefits of Attending Microsoft Power BI
This course will enable students to expand their data reporting capabilities, where Excel has a limit, PowerBi soars beyond, especially in the publishing of the final reports. Students will also be able to comfortably navigate the PowerBi tools and platform. The workflow process within PowerBI is continually visible and referenced for clarity during the class labs. This makes the learning experience positive and applicable to the student’s own projects outside of the classroom.
Who Should Attend
Any person that handles datasets; this could be tracking data, business reporting, or manufacturing and/or health data. If a person has to rely on another department to get a report generated, this cuts the wait time by allowing that employee to produce their own custom reporting. If raw data and reporting is part of your work experience, we would like to introduce you to PowerBI.
